Yes. Rundraft is free to download and use. There are no subscriptions, paywalls, or in-app purchases required to access its core features.
Rundraft requires macOS 13 Ventura or later. To check your current macOS version, go to Apple menu > About This Mac.
If your Mac is running an older version of macOS, you may be able to update via System Settings > General > Software Update, depending on your hardware.
Not at the moment. Rundraft is currently a macOS-only app. There are no iOS or iPadOS versions available. Keep an eye on the GitHub repository for announcements about future platform support.
You can update Rundraft in two ways:
  • From within the app: Open Rundraft and check the menu bar for a Check for Updates option. If an update is available, follow the prompts to install it.
  • From the website: Download the latest version of Rundraft directly, then drag the new version to your Applications folder to replace the existing one.
Keeping Rundraft up to date ensures you have the latest features, performance improvements, and bug fixes.
Your drafts are stored locally on your Mac. Rundraft does not upload your content to any external server or cloud service. You can find your drafts in the location shown within the app — typically your Documents folder or a folder you’ve chosen yourself.
Syncing drafts across multiple Macs is not currently supported. Your drafts exist only on the Mac where they were created. You can manually move draft files between Macs using AirDrop, a USB drive, or a third-party file transfer tool.
The best way to get help is to open an issue on the Rundraft GitHub Issues page. When filing an issue, include your macOS version, a description of the problem, and any error messages you’ve seen — this helps the team respond quickly and accurately.
Yes. Your drafts are stored entirely on your Mac and are never uploaded to any server. Rundraft does not collect, transmit, or share your content. Your data stays with you.
If you choose to share a draft using Rundraft’s sharing features, only the content you explicitly share is transmitted — and only at the moment you choose to share it.
