Preferences lets you control how Rundraft looks, behaves, and saves your work. Most settings take effect immediately — no restart required.

Opening Preferences

Go to Rundraft > Preferences in the menu bar, or press ⌘, from anywhere in the app.

Settings

Control how Rundraft looks on your screen.
  • Appearance — Choose Light, Dark, or System to follow your macOS setting automatically.
  • Font size — Drag the slider or enter a value to set the editor text size. Changes apply to all drafts.
  • Font — Select from a list of system fonts. Monospace options are listed separately for plain-text and code-heavy workflows.
  • Line spacing — Adjust line height to make dense or sparse content easier to read.
Choose where Rundraft stores your drafts on disk.
  • Default save location — Click Choose to pick a folder on your Mac or an iCloud Drive location. New drafts are saved here automatically.
  • iCloud sync — Toggle on to keep your drafts in iCloud and access them across all your Macs signed in to the same Apple ID.
Changing the save location does not move your existing drafts. Use File > Move on individual drafts to relocate them.
Manage when Rundraft alerts you.
  • Share activity — Get a notification when someone opens a draft you’ve shared via link.
  • Reminders — Set a reminder on any draft by opening it and clicking Add Reminder in the inspector. Toggle this setting off to disable all draft reminders.
You can also manage Rundraft’s notification permissions in System Settings > Notifications > Rundraft.
